3D oil and gas video animation
Operating as our 3D division, 3D Aberdeen, we were commissioned by oil and gas giants, Weatherford, to produce a 3D animation for an innovative new subsea system. The subsequent edit was used at trade shows and presentations around the world to showcase what they could do.
Subsea 3D Animation
The Brief: We don’t just do web content. Working with another of our parent company’s divisions – Deepblue’s specialist 3D department, 3D Aberdeen – we can create 3D animations too. This video was used to showcase the intricacies of of a specialised oil and gas subsea system. The final edit was deployed across multiple major platforms – including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – and was also used to great effect at trade shows, conferences and on the company website.
The Challenge
When it comes to explaining complex subsea operations, 3D animation is often the only viable solution. Real-world filming at depth is both logistically difficult and prohibitively expensive. By working from detailed technical schematics of the company’s equipment, we crafted a dynamic and informative animation that illustrated the full process in a realistic subsea environment.
The Result
As a relatively new solution at the time, the Denizen system needed greater exposure to build awareness and credibility. This video did just that – helping Weatherford not only promote the system’s unique capabilities but also win new clients and expand its global customer base.
