iRide: A Smarter Way to Ski and Snowboard

iRide is an innovative Android and iOS app designed to enhance the way users ski and snowboard using smart technology. At its core is a unique Rider Rating System that ranks users globally, nationally, locally or among friends. Riders can progress by completing structured Progression Lists – verified development guides that help improve skiing and snowboarding skills. Combined with Rider Profiling, this enables Smart Connections, linking riders worldwide to build active snow sports communities.

Advanced Tracking and Global Resort Data

The app also features a powerful activity tracker, recording users’ speed, altitude, distance and routes throughout each day. iRide includes a huge resort database, offering weather updates and stats for over 1,950 winter sports destinations.

iRide Version 2.0 Launching Soon

Following the success of the first version, Tenerife Web Design is now developing iRide Version 2.0. This major update introduces even more advanced features, reinforcing iRide’s position as the leading ski and snowboard app on the market.

Version 2.0 is on track for a beta release soon. The iRide app home page serves as the central control hub, giving users instant access to all core features. From this screen, riders can open the home feed, upload their ski or snowboard footage, challenge others to a riding battle or update their profile images and bio.

User-Friendly Design with Built-In Brand Identity

The interface uses a clean, structured design with an intuitive user interface (UI) and large button links, making it easy to navigate even while wearing ski gloves. We also integrated iRide’s brand colours throughout the layout to ensure strong visual consistency and brand recognition.

Showcase Skills and Connect

A core feature of the iRide app is the Rider Profile system, giving users a space to highlight their best skiing or snowboarding images and videos. Profiles allow riders to share details about their ski or snowboard gear, local resort, and personal info such as age and years of experience.

Each profile also includes the ability to connect with friends, helping build a global community of skiers and snowboarders. The system promotes interaction, visibility and user engagement across the iRide platform.

At the heart of the iRide Ski Snow App is a powerful sharing feature that lets users upload images and videos to connect with a worldwide network of riders. Riders can get rated by others on their uploaded content while working towards in-app achievements. These include the Structured Progression Lists, designed to support development by offering a clear, logical path to improve skiing and snowboarding skills.

We collaborated closely with professional ski and snowboard instructors to create Structured Progression Lists that guide users through a recognised and logical path to improve their skiing and snowboarding. These lists form the backbone of the iRide app’s approach to rider development.

Gamifying Real-World Snow Sports Progress

By following these progression levels, users can significantly enhance their abilities while also engaging with the iRide global network and connecting with other riders. Users upload footage of their attempts and, if they earn a high enough average ranking from at least three fellow riders, they pass the level and unlock the next challenge. This process effectively gamifies real-world snow sports development, making improvement more interactive and rewarding.

Global Ski Resort Database

iRide includes a powerful ski resort database covering almost 2,000 destinations worldwide. Each resort entry provides access to piste maps, resort maps, live webcams, contact details and up-to-date snow and weather reports from the world’s top ski areas.

Real-Time, Global Snow Conditions

Because users can select and follow their local ski resort within the app, they can stay informed with live updates on snow depth, forecast, and resort status. iRide ensures riders always have the latest conditions at their fingertips, helping them plan better days on the mountain.

Battle Mode

Progression with iRide Battle Mode

It’s well known that skiing or snowboarding with stronger riders helps boost your own skills. With iRide’s Battle Mode, users can challenge others within the iRide network to perform specific tricks or combinations built into the app’s preloaded trick database.

Challenge, Upload and Compete

When a challenge is sent, the recipient can choose to accept or decline. If accepted, both riders upload their video or photo evidence. These entries are then rated by the iRide community. The rider with the highest score wins the challenge, gaining not only bragging rights but valuable experience and progression.

Battle Feed

iRide: Level Up Skills

The main aim of iRide Ski and Snow App is to help users improve their skiing and snowboarding ability. A core part of this process is encouraging users to upload riding footage for feedback and ratings from fellow riders within the iRide community.

Battle Mode: Progression Through Friendly Competition

iRide Battle Mode takes things further by allowing riders to go head-to-head in one-on-one challenges. Once footage is uploaded, other users in the app’s Battle Feed vote to decide the winner. It’s a fun, competitive way to track progress, build community and take your riding to the next level.

Trick Challenges

Weekly Challenges Boost Progression

Another key feature of the iRide app is the Weekly Challenge system, designed to support rider progression in a fun and structured way. Each week, users receive a challenge tailored to their current skill level and ranking.

Tailored Tasks Based on Ability

Users upload their videos to complete the challenge. If they receive a high enough score from other riders, the challenge is marked as complete and they’re sent a new one. Skills and tricks are grouped by level, ensuring progression is always relevant and achievable. It’s a powerful tool for helping skiers and snowboarders steadily improve their riding ability while staying engaged with the iRide network.

Never Forget Gear with Checklists

Ski and snowboard gear can be expensive, especially when bought in resort. There’s nothing more frustrating than arriving at your destination and realising you’ve forgotten essential equipment needed for your ski holiday.

To solve this, the iRide app includes customisable ski and snowboard checklists. These pre-loaded lists help users remember all their key gear before travelling. Each list is fully editable, allowing riders to add personal items or make adjustments based on their specific needs and preferences. It’s a simple but powerful tool to avoid those costly in-resort mistakes.

The iRide app was by far our most ambitious and successful digital project to date. It demanded a full spectrum of multimedia, marketing and development expertise. Through a seamless blend of omnichannel marketing and full-stack app development, we successfully conceived, built, launched and promoted what many consider to be the world’s most complete snow app – bringing skiers and snowboarders together to connect, share and grow their skills.

What’s Next: iRide Vs2.0 and Beyond

is now in active development and will expand on the success of the original release.
